40 DAYS OF PRAYER: DAY 37

Spiritual Warfare

There is a battle raging around us that we cannot see. But we can feel the effects of it daily, sometimes hourly or minute by minute. Sometimes though, we forget that the battle is raging. the attacks we face are not always fierce and confrontational. Sometimes they are quite and subtle, he simply needs to distract us from God and His will for our lives. Satan wants to steal, kill and destroy.

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

You must remember that you are not alone, there are believers around the world that face the same warfare you do. As we engage in the world around us as genuine believers, the devil ramps up his rhetoric. Gods word tells us about the schemes of the devil, that we are to stay alert and close to the Lord. We have Gods word to arm ourselves with, to fight against the lies of the enemy.

He gave us he Holy Spirit to equip us, strengthen us, and give us discernment to stay strong in the battle of spiritual warfare. God wants us to spend time in His word, worshipping and doing everything we can to know Him more. The deeper we get into Gods word, the easier it is for us see what is truth and what is false, that makes us more confident as we battle in the name of Jesus, who never leaves us alone in this dark world. He is fighting with and for us at all times. We have been talking about praying Gods word, reciting His promises back to him, praying with faith and confidence. Gods word is a powerful weapon against the Devil. He knows what we are going through, builds our faith and trust in God. Staying in the word, Daily in Gods word, guards our heart, focuses our minds on him, and wins the battle.

James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

God is on our side. We just need to surrender to him. When temptation comes, resist it. Power up! Greater is He who is in us, than He who is in the world!

Hold EVERYTHING to Gods word.

No weapon formed agains you shall prosper.

Prayed for you all today!

Much love and blessings! Pastor Scott
