40 DAYS OF PRAYER: DAY 33
Confidence in Prayer
The apostle Paul was relying on the Holy Spirit for “EVERYTHING”. Knowing that his human understanding could only take him so far. He knew Gods word to be true and that God had amazing things planed for his creation, namely us. He quoted Isaiah with this in mind in;
1 Corinthians 2:9 but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
He also addressed the Philippians about Gods work in and through us. That God will complete what He has started.
Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
We gain strength when we rely on the Holy Spirit. We studied this while reading about Gods promises on Sunday mornings in our study on the Book of John. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to us.
John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us, guide us and reveal things to us that the world will not see or understand, we get a glimpse of what is at stake with eternity. Who knows what God is really going to do or how he will accomplish His will? The Holy Spirit. As we pray, we must pray with confidence that God, the author and creator of everything we know and experience is acting on our behalf. We also pray in anticipation of a new Heaven and Earth. (Isaiah 64:4, Isaiah 65:17)
We pray with confidence because we can stand upon the rock! We have a firm foundation that will steady us. Don’t allow the enemy to dissuade you. We serve a mighty God! He is our hope, He is our Rock, our salvation, our stronghold, strength and refuge, we can indeed trust in Him all times. Do not be afraid to pour out your heart to him.
Psalms 62:5-8 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
Prayed for you all this morning!
Have a great day!
Much love and blessings, Pastor Scott
