40 Days of Prayer: Day 30
Your value in Gods eyes
Have you ever lost anything and gone into search mode? Wedding ring, cellphone, dog? How about one of your kids while your at the store or an amusement park? You panic and go into search mode, nothing else matters. You investigate and examine, asking questions to any and everyone and you don't stop until you have found what you lost. And how did you feel once you found it? The reason we panic or go on search mode is because we ascribe value to what we have lost. God values you, Jesus even used a lost sheep as an example of our individual value.
Luke 15:4-7
4 “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
5 When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
7 I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
God made us in His image, Genesis1:26 "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness”… so we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God is searching for us. God has plans for our lives if we will surrender and allow His will to direct us. We have done none of this, God did it all. it is by grace alone in faith alone that we are saved. Creation and a plan to restore us after sin entered into the world, Gods plan. Jesus laid it all down, paid the price for ALL sin, past present and future. He knows you and I and loves us anyway.
Psalms 139:1-3
1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
We are often deceived because our self worth is based on what others say to us or how they react to us. We must remember that God created us, values us enough to come looking for us and has a plan for our lives. We just need to slow down and search him out.
So as you pray today, remember that God loves you, values you and He knows you!
Prayed for you all this morning!
Have a great day!
